GORIZONT Remote Tower

Remote Tower System is designed for:

  • Electronic and optical surveillance of traffic and airfield area with displaying surveillance results
  • Increasing the situational awareness of ATC controllers by simulating out-of-window view in a traditional tower
  • Ensuring control over airfield blind areas
  • Focused monitoring of required (selected) alert areas, including automatic detection and recognition of the objects
  • Increasing efficiency of ATCO operation to refuse of subsidiary control rooms, runway supervisory unit / subsidiary approach control, including arrangement of remote workstations at another airfield
  • Improvement of air traffic control efficiency in terminal area at night and in poor weather conditions

Functionalities:

Remote Tower ensures capabilities of advanced video analytics based on machine learning and computer vision algorithms to provide solutions to the following tasks:

  • Detection of moving objects: frame sequence analysis, automatic search and selection of areas (objects) where movement detected
  • Objects recognition: searching for objects in an image to highlight and to classify them by type (person/vehicle/aircraft)
  • Objects tracking: automatic tracking of selectable objects with an option to use rotary PTZ camera

These features make it possible to reduce workload on ATC controllers and to focus on the most important events taking place in terminal area.

Furthermore, the system is based on video analytics services and performs multi-sensor processing of the objects observed.

Multi-sensor processing is an interframe tracking of objects in the surveillance area with the unique labels assigned to the objects for all cameras of the complex.

Integration of Remote Tower with ATM system allows the object track labels to be supplemented with information received from Air Traffic Management subsystems.

Using of Gorizont Remote Tower increases situational awareness of ATC personnel and contributes to safe and efficient operation of tower control including night time and low visibility conditions, and eliminates the need in organizing subsidiary controls.
