The project for Megaphone VCSS upgrade according to 006.БУ bulletin has been completed in Murmansk ATM center. The project included replacement of the product hardware including 60 interfacing modules, 18 sets of workstation equipment, technical control and monitoring system, and the software was updated to version НКПГ.10231-03.01 that resulted in significant improvement of the system performance.
The technical control and monitoring system upgraded is based on Linux to enhance its reliability. The VCSS implemented such additional functions as simultaneous control of several interfaces by one technical control and monitoring system; operational adjustment for echo suppression; simultaneous control for several subscribers; background recording of a workstation microphone if desk microphone is unavailable; and so on.
As the result of upgrade the workstation equipment provided is of integrated version that enabled design of desktop communication terminals for ATC controllers and engineers.
