At the end of July, NITA completed upgrade of equipment set for Piaggio P.180 Avanti II aircraft up to configuration of ASLK-2015 Automated Flight Inspection System, as well as certification procedure to approve ASLK-2015 installation onboard Piaggio P.180 Avanti II aircraft in accordance with the statement of work approved by the State ATM Corporation and agreed by the Federal Air Transport Agency and the Ministry of Transport of Russia. The company team completed the entire scope of work under the contract including required tests within a short time – just for 8 months and with high quality.
According to results of the work performed a Type Certificate to confirm suitability of the component item for onboard unit of the Automated Flight Inspection System was obtained.
During the flight tests, the system was highly appreciated by the flight crew and flight engineers-operators of Aerocontrol branch of the State ATM Corporation and of the State Civil Aviation Research Institute Certification Center.
With the Type Certificate obtained for AFIS the prospect of installing this equipment onboard any type of aircraft including foreign-made ones has been opened.
