The project of Air Traffic Management system delivery to the Tower of Veliki Ustyug airfield has been successfully completed. The project has been implemented under reconstruction of the old airport within “The development of Transportation system of Russia (2010-2020 years)” program.
Modernization of the non-operating airport with subsequent commissioning of all airfield infrastructure facilities will be an important stage in the development of Vologda region and its main tourist project: “Veliky Ustyug is the birthplace of Grandfather Frost”. Every year the popularity of this destination among tourists is growing, and up-to-date airport will allow for redistribution of transport load and make Veliky Ustyug more accessible.
The installed ATM system includes: ALPHA-5 ATC system for 2 workstations with servers including technical control and monitoring equipment; 2 automated workstations of PLANETA-5 flight data processing system (FDPS); MEGAPHONE VCSS in configuration for 3 workstations and 8 interface modules (including emergency alert system for 2 subscribers); GRANIT-6 data recording and playback system in configuration for 16 analog channels with video recording for 3 workplace displays and 2 IP video cameras, as well as a playback workstation; SFERA Information Protection Software.
From the very beginning the work on the site was complicated by many factors, but NITA installation team showed tremendous resilience and ingenuity; they not only solved the problems successfully but also completed the work on time and at a high level.
